Day in a life at Tiddlywinks Nursery School
Arrival 7:30AM – 9:00AM
It's a busy time as everyone begins their day at nursery. You and your child will arrive through our secure and monitored entrances, to be greeted by the friendly and familiar nursery team. Breakfast is served during this time, allowing enough time for all our friends to arrive and eat their breakfast.
Mornings 9:00AM – 11:00AM
Your child will join their friends in their nursery area. From the baby room right through to our pre-school classroom, each room has its own distinctive look and feel, to reflect every stage of development. Activities and resources will be available to the children throughout their nursery day, such as sand and water, playdough, arts and crafts and role-play. The morning will begin with circle time and circle activity songs!
Lunch 11:00AM – 12:00PM
Lunch is a time to enjoy a freshly-prepared and balanced meal prepared by our in-house trained cook using locally sourced seasonal produce. There’s a healthy and varied menu every day, and we encourage children to discover different tastes and textures, try different food and enjoy the experience of sharing a sociable meal with others.
Sleep and quiet time 12:00PM – 1:30PM
For sleep times, we change our rooms in to cosy, snuggly areas where babies and children can get the sleep and rest they require for their own personal and developmental needs. Sleep is an important part of the nursery day for our babies and toddlers, we work together with our parents, we ensure that each child’s individual needs are carefully considered and met.
Indoor play 1:30PM – 2:30PM
Our play rooms are designed to ensure your child’s time with us will be one of delight and wonder. Each room has its own equipment and resources to meet and exceed the needs of all of our children through exciting activities every day.
Outdoor play - ALL DAY
Our outdoor continuous provision offers the space for your child to explore and take risks with the support of our nursery teachers. Our outdoor play area is an extension of our indoor play area. We have attractive generous outdoor play areas and sensory gardens with wonderful array of colours and sounds. Many of the developmental tasks that children must achieve—exploring, risk-taking, fine and gross motor development and the absorption of vast amounts of basic knowledge—can be most effectively learned through outdoor play.
High tea 2:30PM – 3:30PM
Get ready for high tea. We enjoy washing our own hands and faces and choosing our own cutlery to help self serve our high tea and our own drinks.
Home time 3:00PM – 6:20PM
At the end of each day, our nursery team will inform the parent/carer about their exciting day at Tiddlywinks, so you’ll know what activities they have done throughout the day and enjoyed the most. We want you to feel part of their day so you will be fully informed to ensure you don’t miss out on any important achievements and development milestones. During this time the children will begin to have more calm and relaxed activities, snacks are optional, sliced fruit and milk is given to all children to keep us going throughout the busy day!
